Looking for Graduate Student Orientation?
Graduate students in the Greehey School of Business, School of Science, Engineering and Technology, and College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences must complete an online orientation course before classes begin. Refer to the Graduate Student Orientation page for more information.
1. Submit your enrollment deposit and complete the enrollment confirmation process

Admitted students are required to submit a $200 non-refundable enrollment deposit prior to registering for Rattler Orientation.
If you have not completed this step, visit the Rattler Roadmap for instructions on how to do so.
2. Register for Rattler Orientation
Parents/guardians are welcome to attend orientation with their student. There will be parent-centered activities to participate in as well.
All new freshmen are required to attend Rattler Orientation prior to the beginning at St. 玛丽的秋季或春季学期. Space at each session is limited and is available on a first-come, first served basis. We highly recommend registering as soon as possible to ensure your session best fits your personal schedule. Due to limited space at each event, we are not able to accommodate walk-ins.
Your orientation registration includes a questionnaire that will help your academic advisor build your schedule and support you in your first semester at St. Mary’s.

3. Complete the Accuplacer math assessment
ALL first-time students are required to take Accuplacer AAF regardless of SAT/ACT score, AP scores, and extra-institutional credits (dual or otherwise) to get the most accurate math placement information to your academic adviser as they are building your student schedule. This is not a pass/fail test, but the score helps your adviser make sure you are appropriately placed in the math course you are ready for.
A transfer student, not transferring math credits, is also required to take Accuplacer AAF.
A transfer student who is transferring math credits or who has fully completed their math requirement does not need to take the AAF.
An email will be sent from Accuplacer inviting you to sign-up with Examity within 10 days of receiving your enrollment deposit via your St. Mary’s University email account with information on how to take the Accuplacer AAF and voucher so you do not pay for the exam. Please search your St. Mary’s inbox and follow the instructions in the Accuplacer Voucher email. You must utilize the testing voucher and follow the link from the email to sign-up and take the math placement exam. The exam can be completed remotely, and the sooner the Accuplacer exam is completed, the sooner the academic advisers can work on your fall schedule.
4. Meet with your academic advisor
After completing your Rattler Orientation registration and your Accuplacer assessment, your academic advisor will begin building your first semester schedule.
For Fall 2023, you will be contacted beginning June 1 by your academic advisor via your St. Mary’s email address to schedule your advising appointment. You will be able to schedule your advising appointment via the appointment campaign link sent to that email.
During your advising appointment, your academic advisor will review your final schedule with you. Please ensure that any in-progress or final transcripts that reflect college credit are received by the Office of Undergraduate Admission June 1 for Fall 2023.
Freshmen
After your academic advisor has reviewed your prior college credit and your Accuplacer assessment results (if necessary), your academic advisor will contact you for Fall 2023 beginning May 15 to schedule your advising appointment. You will be able to schedule your advising appointment via the appointment campaign link sent to you in that email. You and your advisor will register for your courses together during your meeting.

Why Zaragoza?
Zaragoza was a place of new beginning. It’s the town in Spain where Blessed William Joseph Chaminade, founder of the Society of Mary, took time to reflect on his life and was the birthplace of the Society we now know as the Marianists.
Blessed Chaminade’s experience in Zaragoza parallels the reflection and new direction you will experience as you begin your collegiate career at St. Mary’s University.
Our Zaragoza program welcomes students to the St. Mary’s community and prepares students to be members of our community by easing the transition for students and parents; instilling a sense of pride in being a St. Mary’s student; and providing an opportunity for you to interact with other students, faculty, staff and alumni.
